About Columbia Housing Authority

Founded in 1956, the Housing Authority of the City of Columbia, Missouri provides safe, healthy, and affordable housing to low-income families and individuals in Columbia and Boone County.

The Columbia Housing Authority is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor of the City of Columbia. The five Commissioners serve staggered four-year terms.


Mission Statement

The mission of the Columbia Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher Program is to assist low income households leading efforts with local organizations to find more choices for decent, safe, and affordable housing opportunities (Rental and Home Ownership) in Boone County. The Columbia Housing Authority seeks to improve the quality of life, to insure fair housing, support the commitment, and to encourage affordable housing for persons of low and moderate income within the boundaries of Boone County.
